January 29th is our 100th day of school!!! I have so many fun things planned!!!

Unfortunately the flu has hit our room! We have already had 4 kiddos out over the past week. If your child has run fever or had flu like symptoms please keep them home until they are fever free for at least 24 hours. For the next few weeks I am asking that you send your child with a water bottle so they do not have to use the water fountains. We had to close the school last year due to the number of kids with the flu, we certainly do not want it to happen again this year!

This week is full of all sorts of fun! Here is a quick list of all the fun:

Monday: Visit from Santa 🙂 We will have the opportunity to take pics with our favorite jolly fella! I will make sure and post these for all to see.

Tuesday: Pajama Day / Polar Express Day!  We will snuggle up in our jammies and watch Polar Express. The kids will also enjoy hot cocoa with marshmallows, and then we will collect data with a class survey during our math lesson.

Wednesday:  1st grade will have game day! Please send your child with a board game they are familiar with and can teach their friends to play. We will also have bouncy houses in the gym for PE, so please send your kiddo with socks.

Thursday: Our Christmas party is at 9am along with early release at 11:45am. If you are helping with the party, doors will be open at 8:30. Make sure your child has a wrapped coloring book, in order to participate in the gift exchange. If you are able to join us for the party you will be able to sign your child out after the party.

Whew! It’s going to be a crazy week, but I love every minute!

Thanksgiving Feast

I hope everyone enjoys this time together with family! I am so thankful for all my little turkeys. Happy Thanksgiving!

Our Reader’s Theater is this Friday! Please make sure the kids are practicing. When they practice it is important to remember to use a lot of expression. They also need to read slowly and loud enough to project across a room.

We will also have our class Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday. This is a time for us to eat and celebrate as a class, so please DO NOT plan on eating with your child that day! The kids have been working hard on their Thanksgiving activities, we hope to see everyone on Friday so they can show off all their hard work.

Don’t forget this week is Red Ribbon Week. This is an annual event to raise awareness and encourage our kids to have healthy habits. We will have themed dress up days to add a little fun to the week!

Monday- Wear red

Tuesday- Wear your favorite team jersey

Wednesday- Wear dress code appropriate PJ’s

Thursday- Wear crazy socks

Friday- Wear Roughneck spirit colors
